Virtually every day someone announces a new ‘secret’ strategy guaranteed to foil the Google algorithm and deliver page one search results.  Last month it was a system to create thousands of automatic (content-scraper) blogs pointing to your website; this month it’s a widget or a plugin “guaranteed’ to do something – so that you don’t have to do anything to get hordes of hungry buyers.

People have been trying to fool the search engines since day one.  Some succeed… for a short time.  There is always a new program, system or ‘Black Hat’ method of tricking the spiders, but eventually these techniques are discovered and often the sites using them get banned.

There always seems to be a ‘secret’ shortcut… but its effectiveness seldom lasts very long.  When it is all said and done, there is one SEO strategy that will eventually trump all such schemes.

Quality Content

Content is king! We’ve all heard that before, but if we forget it we will always be struggling to find customers.  Regardless of your niche, providing unique, compelling content is the cream that eventually rises to the top.  Employing SEO best practices and utilizing social media accelerates the process.

I will give you a case in point.  I am (IMHO) an accomplished SEO and social media expert.  I’ve written books, consulted with Fortune 500 companies and been playing in the Internet space for almost two decades.  I can also recognize other experts and I stumbled upon one just this morning.
